scenario...
mom is gone to a wonderful ladies Christmas brunch.
dad is gone working--talking to someone about buying insurance.
Isaac the big brother is in charge of the said 7 year old.
I get a phone call...
Isaac: "I think Lucas called 9-1-1"
mom: "WHAT?"
Isaac: "He was in my room and said he dialed 9-1-1 on my old phone, I don't think he knew he was calling them but he talked to someone"
Then I talked to Lucas...
After figuring out what was happening, I realized that he thought he was calling his new friends that he made yesterday when 6 police cars and a police motorcycle came to our house for a visit to meet and see him....
He figured he could just call 911 to talk to them...
They are his new friends after all...
So why would they not want to talk to him?
And he knows 911 means being connected to all things "emergency".
There is some logic in it for him. I sort of get that...but needless to say we had to clarify. If he wants to talk to his new police friends we can email them or call another number (they all gave us cards)...
Isaac called them back and they laughed. Fortunately they were understanding. But it was a serious lesson learned.
I don't think he will ever do it again.
another adventure in the Jundt household.
