busy busy busy

Post Christmas and New Year has remained busy in our house.

Passion 2012, a conference for college age students (18-25 yrs. old) here in ATL has come and gone.  Four days when 42,000 students gathered at the Georgia Dome to worship God in abundant ways, give back $3,000,000 to combat slavery issues around the world, and listen to awe inspiring preaching from leaders such as Louie Giglio (our pastor), John Piper, Francis Chan, Beth Moore.  Worship leaders such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Kristian Stanfil, Christy Nockels, David Crowder and more gathered to lead the students in amazing worship.  Wish I was in my 20's again.  But, we did watch some of it live streaming.  And the "kids" that stayed with us gave us the "All Access Pass" so we will be able to download some of it soon.  Next year we are hoping to volunteer.

We had 6 amazing young people in our home in addition to a few other guests bringing our total a few nights to 14 people sleeping in our house this week.  LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

One of our "other guests" was my good friend "Dr. J" who is in ministry herself.  I don't get to see her much because she lives in another country, but she stayed with us for several days and was excited to be able to meet Lucas finally.  Since she has a real adventuresome spirit, she latched onto Lucas's love for firetrucks and police cars.  Before she left she requested that Lucas take her to the infamous "Station 21" where the infamous "Engine 21" is housed. The two of them were in their glory as they had the fireman show them around the engine.  Lucas has basically laid claim to "Engine 21" and is getting quite comfortable with sitting in it, talking about it's hoses, the Jaws of Life, tools, etc etc.  I'm almost certain he could give the tour by now.  Since we had not met this particular fireman before I think he was a bit surprised as to how comfortable Lucas was at identifying all the parts...

Here are a few highlights...
The Coke Museum...

They have added something new since I was there last....it's the actual vault that holds the "secret recipe"...

Dr. J and Lucas pose with their "lips sealed" as in ---they cannot share the secret---
I say,  YOU have to come for a visit to see it yourself...ah ha!! gotcha...

Dr. J and Lucas and da Bear

yep that's right.  A free coca cola as you leave...and have already consumed enough soda to last a year in the taste testing room...

Dr. J wanted to visit Engine 21...so here it is...more fire engine pics.  This is one fireman we actually have not met yet, but he was just as patient with all the commetns and questions as all the others..=)

the JAWS of LIFE are the coolest thing EVER!

do I need to say more?  She just LOVES dis boy...and we love her.  We will miss you sweet friend.  Come back soon.
