July 7, 2012--more Fond du Lac, WI

Fond du Lac- and grandma’s house--
Back to Lakeside park...more beauty...

We went to a local baseball event for Wounded Warriors.  Lucas Loves baseball.  And it was especially cool since the one team was all amputees that were former “army guys”...
Lucas was sure to clarify they were the “good guys right mom?”
“yes Lucas, they were the good guys”
More nastalgia for this momma....the same Merry Go Round I road on many many moons ago...

Then off to a wedding which was one of the reasons we came to WI at this particular time...
My first Godchild--Daniel got married.
how adorable is this??...

so proud to call him my "date"  ...

It was such a great wedding in so many ways.  First, to think I was there the day he was born--literally, I ended up in the delivery room with my best friend Sheila the day he came into the world. And his entrance was spectacular.  I will never forget it.  But, there was a problem with him getting air.  So he was whisked away to be taken care of.  He recovered but it was touch and go at the beginning.  To see him at the altar was so wonderful.  I was there when he was baptized.  And prayed for him for so many years.  He has grown into such a wonderful young man and is going into seminary in the Fall.  He met his wife when they were just young kids and started dating in early high school.  Their sisters are best friends since childhood too.  What a great day to watch them be united in marriage.  I think one of the coolest things about the ceremony was they washed each other’s feet.  What a symbol of servanthood to one another. So proud of them and excited as they begin their lives together as married people.
Lucas went to the ceremony and then to the dinner and dance.  He had fun with the dancing--never knew he danced in sort of a robot fashion before--too fun.  He did give me at least one slow dance, which was very precious

me, Sheila (mother of the groom-and best friend through childhood since age 5), and Susan another friend from childhood.  So fun!

 The Jammin' dude!!!
Sheila and her daughter Lynn with Lucas boy and a borrowed tie from one of the groomsmen..=)

And the Topper to the day--we watched a cowboy movie with grandma when we got home.

  1. Words can't say how very glad I am that you were able to be here for Daniel and Christin's wedding! (As well as those other big events you mentioned - thanks a bunch, you made me cry.) You are a great Godmother and bless him richly with all you prayers.
